Blaupunkt's San Diego 530 DVD navigation receiver provides reliable guidance and lets you choose your favorite entertainment sources from the driver's seat. You can take advantage of convenient directions through the receiver's 6.2' display, which doubles as a portal to your audio and video favorites, hands-free calling, and audio streaming. On top of all these options, you'll have fantastic Blaupunkt sound to accompany your travels.

Explore your surroundings

Take the San Diego 530 around town or across the country with confidence. It'll provide directions across all 50 states, Canada, and Puerto Rico, and it offers millions of points of interest for when it's time to get off the road. You'll even hear actual street names announced at turns. Lane guidance ensures you'll be in the correct position for your next turn, and you can see realistic views of certain complicated intersections for easier navigation. Certain areas will be shown with 3D graphics for buildings, landmarks, elevated roads, and terrain so you can orient yourself more quickly.

The San Diego 530's powered by iGO primo navigation software, which has become an industry standard over the past few years because it's fast, accurate, and easy to use. You can also add an optional traffic-info receiver to get real-time updates on congestion along your route.

Bluetooth® calling and music streaming

The San Diego 530 offers Bluetooth connectivity, so you'll be able to make and take calls using your compatible phone through the stereo. You have a choice of the built-in mic on the front panel or an included external microphone, so your callers will hear you clearly, no matter what kind of vehicle you drive. Built-in A2DP technology allows you to stream music from your smartphone through this receiver.

Entertainment options

A composite A/V output lets you send movies or other video content to external video monitors, so you can keep the whole crew happy when you're on a road trip. A 10-band parametric equalizer lets you put a personal touch on your sound, and the full complement of preamp outputs includes a dedicated subwoofer out with low-pass filter and level control.

Your media, your way

You can plug your thumb drive filled with digital music into the front USB input, or jack a satellte radio tuner or other device into audio/video input. CDs or DVDs are covered too — including discs loaded with MP3 or WMA files. If you're not using the navigation features, you can load a microSD card with your top road tunes and access them through the receiver's front card slot as well. And a dedicated input on the rear panel accommodates an optional rear-view camera to let you get in and out of tight spaces more easily. Blaupunkt also includes a wireless remote control so your passengers can choose their favorite tunes from anywhere in the vehicle.

Want to keep your steering wheel controls?

In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with a new car stereo. Check “Details” for more information, and the 'Accessories' tab for the compatible adapter. If you're not sure if you need an adapter, call, chat, or email an Advisor for help determining what you'll need for your vehicle.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

iPod/smartphone note: If you're going to use your iPod or smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check 'Details' for compatibility information.

Touchscreen Display

6.2' Touchscreen TFT Display: The Blaupunkt San Diego 530 has an integrated 6.2' TFT widescreen display with touchscreen controls. The display provides a high-resolution video monitor for watching your DVD videos and viewing navigation maps. The screen has a resolution of 830 x 480 (RGB) and 1,152,000 total pixels. The unit's touchscreen panel features interactive controls making menu navigation easy. You can adjust the brightness level of the display screen.

Hard-Key Controls: In addition to the unit's LCD touchscreen controls, the San Diego 530 also features hard-key controls on the left edge of the screen (including a 3-way rotary audio control).

Start Up Time: The Blaupunkt San Diego 530 has a start up time of approximately 50.1 seconds from off to the Map screen or 10.3 seconds from off to an AV source screen.

Parking Brake Detection: To prevent the displaying of video while the vehicle is in motion, the green/white wire in the supplied harness must be connected to the vehicle's parking brake detection circuit. Your vehicle will need to be stopped and have the parking brake fully engaged to view video. While the vehicle is in motion (parking brake off), you can still view all of the other displays and menus.

2-DIN Chassis: The San Diego 530 has a 2-DIN chassis (also known as 'Double-DIN'), and will fit in many vehicles with a large dash opening. The unit can be ISO-mounted using factory brackets, or Euro-mounted using the supplied mounting sleeve. As always, please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to verify fit with your vehicle.

Onboard Navigation

Navigation Mapping Software: The integrated map database (by TomTom) used by the Blaupunkt San Diego 530 was created using high-resolution aerial and land based data collection. Navigation data is stored on the unit's preloaded 8GB microSD-card for quick access and response. The San Diego 530 provides map coverage of the United States (all 50 states), Canada, and Puerto Rico. The Blaupunkt San Diego 530's integrated iGo Primo navigation software provides turn-by-turn visual and voice assistance to direct you to your selected destination. The built-in software quickly calculates step-by-step directions to any destination available on the included navigation map.

Note: Car navigation maps are frequently updated. While this database was judged to be as accurate as possible at the time of its release, a map database can never be 100% accurate. Road information that is maintained in the map databases, such as turn restrictions or road names may change over time.

Map Updates: It is easy to keep the navigation system up to date. Simply download new map data from www.naviextras.com, store the updated map data on a microSD card and insert it into the Blaupunkt San Diego 530 via the front-panel microSD card slot. To ensure that you have the latest version of the map data when you purchase the San Diego 530, you have 30 days from the first GPS positioning to download the latest version of the map data once and free of charge.

GPS (Global Position System): Blaupunkt's built-in navigation helps you find your way to your destination with an integrated GPS receiver & external GPS antenna. The Blaupunkt San Diego 530 features a built-in SiRFprima GPS receiver and includes an external magnetic GPS antenna. The New York 830 uses Global Position System (GPS) satellites, and a digital roadway map database to calculate and display vehicle positioning and travel direction. The San Diego 530 considers vehicle speed an heading changes, together with longitude and latitude information, to accurately determine vehicle heading and position on a digital map. Signal from GPS satellites are used to determine the vehicle location.

On-Screen Map: The unit's on-screen map shows your vehicle's current position (a dark blue arrow by default), the recommended route (a light blue line), the surrounding map area, and your destination as a checkered flag. The on-screen map shows streets, roads, and highways in a way that is similar to how a paper road map show them. A road's width and colors corresponds to their importance, so you can easily tell a freeway from a small street. When navigating a route, the top section of the map screen shows information about your next route maneuver and the next street or the next city/town. When approaching a turn, the map screen will zoom in and raise the view angle to let you easily recognize your maneuver at the next junction. If the next turn is at a distance, it will zoom out and lower the view angle to be flat so you can see the road in front of you. The map also displays data; such as distance to your destination, time left before you reach your destination, and your arrival time.

  • 2D/3D Map Mode: The Blaupunkt San Diego 530 allows you to view its on-screen map in a 2D (two-dimensional) or 3D (three-dimensional) view. Similar to paper road maps, the 2D mode, shows you streets, roads, and elevation by color. In 3D mode, you can see the altitude and elevations differences. You can distinguish between valleys, mountains, and elevated roads. In selected cities 3D landmarks and 3D buildings are also displayed.
  • Color Mode: The navigation map screen uses different color themes (Day/Night) during the day and during the night for both the map and the menu screen. Daytime colors are similar to paper road maps, and the menus are bright. The nigh color themes use dark colors for large objects to keep the average brightness of the screen low. You can also set the navigation unit to switch between daytime and night color modes automatically based on the current time and GPS position.

Lane Information & Signposts: The Blaupunkt San Diego 530's navigation map offers helpful lane information & signpost guidance.

  • Lane Information: When navigation on multilane roads, it is important to take the appropriate lane in order to follow the recommended route. If lane information is available in the map data, the map screen will display the lanes and their directions using small arrows at the bottom of the map. High lighted arrows represent the lanes you need to take.
  • Signposts: Where additional information is available, signposts substitute arrows. Signposts are displayed at the top of the map. The color and style of the signposts are similar to the real ones you can see above the road or by the roadside, They show the available destinations and the number of the road the lane leads to.
  • Junction View: If you are approaching a freeway exit or a complex intersection and the needed information exists, the map is replaced with a 3D view of the junction. The lanes you need to take are displayed with arrows. Signposts can also be present, if information is available.
Radio

Audible Alerts: The Blaupunkt San Diego 530 offers various audible alerts and functions to help you get to your destination safely.

  • Voice Guidance (Text-to-Speech): In addition to graphic directions, the San Diego 530 provides voice guidance and turn-by-turn directions. You can select from English, French, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese audible languages. The volume of the voice prompts can be increased with increases in speed to overcome road noise. Voice guidance can be turned off if you prefer.
  • Safety Alert: This function can warn you when you approach road safety cameras, school zones, or railroad crossings (if available). You can also add your own alert points. Beeps or the spoken type of alert will be heard when you are approaching of these points.
  • Speed Limit Warning: Some maps may contain information about the speed limits of certain road segments. The San Diego 530 provides an audible warning if you exceed the recommended speed limit.

Historical Traffic: The San Diego 530 features TomTom's Historical Traffic database of more than 9 trillion anonymously-collected data points, providing analysis to predict driving behavior along your route. You'll be able to determine the fastest route and accurate ETA at different times of the day. You'll also be able to analyze traffic congestion, travel times, and delays at different times of the day along your route.

Note: This is not a real-time traffic information system. This is only a collection of historical traffic data that has happened in the past that will further help the navigation system to give you the best route and most accurate ETA possible.

Where Am I?: This screen contains information about the current position (or approximately the last known position if GPS reception is not available) and a button to search for POIs nearby.

Find Menu: The Find Menu gives you many different ways to choose your destination or insert a waypoint in your current route. An on-screen keyboard appears to allow you to enter your destination from one of the following categories:

Destination SearchDescription
Find on MapSearch for a destination by scrolling the map display.
Find AddressEnter full/partial address, or Search for a city (central location), or Search for the intersection of two roads.
Find PlacesSearch for over 15,000,000 points-of-interest (POIs) near your current location, in a specific city, along your current route, or near your destination. You can search by name of place or by category.
FavoritesStore your favorite locations for easy recall.
HistoryDestinations that you have set previously
CoordinatesAllows you to search your destination by longitude and latitude values.

Route Calculation: The Blaupunkt San Diego 530 calculates your route based on Route Method and Avoidances.

  • Route Method: You can choose which route method (Fastest, Shortest, Green, Economical, or Easy) the navigation unit should use when calculating your route.
    • Fastest: give a quick route, if you can travel at or near the speed limit on all roads. Usually the best section for fast and normal cars
    • Shortest: gives a route that has the smallest total distance of all possible routes. It can be practical for slow vehicles
    • Green: gives a quick, but full efficient route based on the fuel consumption data you provide
    • Easy: results in a route with fewer turns and no difficult maneuvers
  • Avoidances: You can tell the navigation unit to avoid certain types of roads along your calculated route, such as - Highways, Tolls, Carpool/HOV, Unpaved Roads, and/or Ferries.

Quick Menu: The Quick menu is a selection of controls and functions that are frequently needed during navigation. It can be directly opened from the map screen.

Route Preview: The navigation head unit lets you preview your route's turn-by-turn instructions and simulate travel along that projected route.

Automatic Route Recalculation: The unit will automatically recalculate your route if you stray from the navigation unit's previously calculated route.

Trip Monitor: TheTrip Monitor contains useful information about your trip. Trip logs can be saved manually when you reach your destination or automatically along your route. Trip log data includes - Start/End Time, Avg./Max. Speed, Total/Driving/Stopped Time, Total Distance, and Min./Max. Altitude.

Disc & USB Playback

Disc Compatibility: The Blaupunkt San Diego 530 has a front-loading disc-slot to make loading your disc easier, because there is no panel to slide or fold-down. The San Diego 530 supports playback of DVD-Video, DVD-R/RW, CD-Audio, and CD-R/RW discs. Cara download vector di shutterstock gratis.

Loudness & Dynamic Sound: Loudness enhances low and high frequencies to make the sound clearer lower volumes. The Dynamic Sound feature enhances low frequencies at any listening level.

Volume Offset &: The level of each source may be independently adjusted to prevent radical leaps in output volume when switching from one source to another. The available settings range from 0-12.

Key Beep: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation. This function can be turned On or Off.

AM/FM RDS Tuner: The Blaupunkt San Diego 530 is equipped with a built-in AM/FM tuner offering manual, seek/scan, & preset tuning. The Radio Data System (RDS) feature displays radio broadcast information such as artist, title, and album when listening to compatible AM/FM stations. The built-in tuner provides 3 FM banks and 2 AM banks. You can store 6 radio stations in each bank, giving you 18 FM and 12 AM preset stations. Stations can be preset manually or automatically. You can also enter a station's frequency directly from the head unit's touchscreen keypad (0-9). In addition, you can use the scan function to play all the receivable AM/FM stations of the current band for a few seconds. The seek tuning sensitivity decides whether the automatic station seek tuning finds only strong stations or also weaker stations that may be noisy.

Note: You can set the built-in AM/FM tuner between US standard and European tuning spacing.

AV Connections + Remote Control

A/V Input: The unit features a front-panel 3.5mm audio/video input for connecting an external game console or portable MP3 player.

What size SD card is this unit capable of reading?
[ Marin Mar 28, 2015 ]
micro sd. comes with one laded w nav
sorry, never used this feature
SORRY I DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE ELECTRONICS BUT IT IS A GOOD GPS
It takes a micro-SD card, but it's for the navigation software. I'm pretty sure you can't put music on it as well. I would use a USB stick if trying to get media into the unit. The USB port is on the front of the unit--great if you want to plug it in every once in a while and change music frequently. A bit annoying if you just want to leave it in there and not think about it, because it's always sticking out there at you.
Micro SD it also is the SD card for GPS
how easy is it to update the maps database in the unit?
[ Jerry Feb 13, 2015 ]
relatively straight forward. It must be done from a Windows based machine with an SD card reader; painful for a MAC user like myself. You will also need a micro SD card adapter. After downloading a program from the website, I can't remember the URL, just follow the on-screen prompts. Good luck
After you take the hidden SD card out of the unit and go to the navigation software's web site it takes about 35 yto 45 minutes for the site to update your SD navagation card. Note that you must take the included hidden SD card out of the unit, place it in a PC with web access, go to the navagation site and update the card. (I would do that before I install the unit, update the card and then put it back into the unit so that after it's installed you'll be ready to go.) PS - The hidden SD compartment is at the lower left corner underneith the open SD card slot. Hope this helps.
You have to take the micro-sd card out of this and run their program to back up the card and update it. It gave me one free initial update, then it will cost you in the future for further updates. Only thing that made it difficult for me is that I'm a mac user, and the program is windows based.
Does the San Diego 530 display Pandora track info when playing over Bluetooth from an iPhone 6?
[ Lee Dec 11, 2014 ]
I have the iPhone 5 and it does not display track info when played over bluetooth, so I assume it probably would not when using the iphone 6 either
Using an iPhone 5s there is no Pandora support. In fact there seems to be no special support for any of the streaming audio apps. All you get is a screen with Next/Previous/Play/Pause bluetooth generic controls. No track data. I think this is because they do not have an Apple Authentication chip. I work in telematics and our products offer Apple support, but that chip is expensive, like a dollar each. Most Germans don't support that kind of pay to play thinking, so it's no surprise that BP doesn't either. (I worked in Germany for 8 years in automotive). That said, do I REALLY need TWO touch screens controlling the App? No, I probably don't and I don't really miss it.
I don't know. I have an iPhone 5 and have never used pandora with the car stereo. Sorry.
I doubt it. I have an iPhone 5s and it does not display the Pandora track on it.
I don't know.. But I get no track info on BT with an iPhone 3GS
Hi, I play Pandora with my iPhone 5 and its does not show the Pandora track infor on the screen. On the Blue tooth screen You can skip /Pause / go back .
I don't think it does. It's a very simple head unit and I'm happy with it. I bought it just for navigation purpose. Nothing fancy with this unit.
Lee, it's compatible with IPhone 5 and 6's. I have a 5s, pandora plays through Bluetooth.
Are there any theme/color options? For example, is there anything in the settings that will change the lights on the face of the unit or can you choose anything other than the default blue theme?

Does this unit have detachable face for security?
[ Mark Aug 21, 2014 ]
no it doesnt remove
No, the face is mostly the screen and it does not detach
No it doesn't
yes
Mark, The unit does not have a removable face. The install is in a 2005 Pilot and my only issue is the trim bezel interferes with the cover/door on the USB and 3.5mm jack compartment.
No it does not. It is fixed.
No, it does not.
No
No it does not have a detachable face. The unit works very well and I am happy with it.
The face does not detach on this unit.
No.It has a wide touchscreen display, with very few buttons. When the car is off, ther eis noting that makes this attractive to a thief, and you cannot guess at the capabilities of this device from a blank black screen.
No. It does not.

How To Install Igo Primo On Android

No it does not.. another noteworthy thing about the unit is that the blue led backlight for the knob is annoyingly bright at night.
No it doesn't.Hopefully you saw my review.I have returned this unit for a Kenwood.
No
It does not. I was worried about this a little bit as well, however, at least in my 2004 Accord, it is mounted pretty securely. There would be very little chance of it being removed from the car in any sort of hurried fashion, especially without a large amount of tools.Plus, most cars these days come preinstalled with some sort of large screen device, so I wasn't too worried.
No the face is not detachable.
The face does not detach.
No it does not.
no, it does not
Nope. Nothing detaches, I'm afraid.
How compatible i a this item with android based phones?
[ Erick Aug 17, 2014 ]
Not sure. We are having problems with the navigation system. According to the professional installer who installed our system, he thinks the iphone app did something to mess up the nav. So now I need to figure out how ti get it fixed. The bummer is, it happened about a month after we got it. Not to happy about it.
I use my samsung s4 mini bluetooth to listen to audio books and it works really nicely. I can answer phone calls through it and it pauses my books while I talk. It offers to let me hear incoming texts and reply voice with motospeak. which works nicely. I haven't really tried to get advanced phone controls on the display because I have a phone mount on the dash. Hope this helps Erick,
Wish we could help. Only used iPhone with this radio. No issues with that, though.
sorry, I don't know; I'm an iPhone user. It does work well with iPhone though.
I HAVE THE NEW GALAXY S5 WITH VERIZION WIRELESS AND IT WORKS GREAT WITH IT. I NEVER USE THE CD PLAYER OR THE RADIO BECAUSE I STREAM IHEART RADIO OR DOWNLOADED MUSIC FROM MY PHONE. I HAVE ALSO DOWNLOADED MY ADDRESS BOOK TO THE RADIO SO ANY CONTACT I NEED IS IN THE RADIO.
compatible in what way? connected via bluetooth for voice? music? connected via usb?
I have an iphone, but it's BT so it should work
We've had it paired with several Android phones, no problems either with making calls or with streaming music.
If you're talking about the Bluetooth it connects okay. But that is after you update the San Diego 530 software, otherwise it's really hard to hear the other person you are talking too. And also the nav screen and voice prompt stops when you answer the phone through the bluetooth. Hope this answers your question. Ps. It's okay for a $429 head unit..it's simple to use.

I found informatiin on the internet about this unit which states that this radio is steering wheel control ready, all you need is to prgram it. That it work with most cars. Now you state on the overview of thizs unit, that an adapter is required. Why, is this unit different from the ones selling in Europe and India?
[ Erick Aug 12, 2014 ]
Thanks jeff. Ill keep searching, nice unit though.
I'm not familiar with the units selling in Europe or India, but I can tell you that an interface is needed between the factory controls and the aftermarket unit. Those interfaces are not included with the receiver, but can be found on the accessories tab.
I have a 2005 Honda Accord with Navigation System and I'm looking for a replacement. Once I remove the navigation system on the honda and put this in will it be compatible to change controls of the AC like the original screen?
[ Justin Aug 05, 2014 ]
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.
We have a 06 Honda odyssey with rear DVD screen that plays audio through the stereo. Would like to upgrade to navigation/bluetooth/mp3 head unit like the blaupunkt. Question - Can I use the GPS navigation while still playing the DVD for my kids, or is it one or the other?
[ zachshanna Jul 23, 2014 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: Unfortunately, when you replace the factory radio in your 2006 Honda Odyssey you will lose the factory Video Entertainment feature. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.
In the description of this item, it says that a traffic-info receiver can be added. Can you provide the product number and/or a link to where I can get this? I have come up empty on my searches
[ Rob May 03, 2014 ]
I am not sure
To the best of my knowledge, the traffic receivers available in the US are sold by Tomtom and Garmin (check on line for 'RDS traffic receiver'). Whether either one of them is compatible with the Blaupunkt unit, I don't know, sorry.
The 530 has a traffic receiver. I haven't yet used it so don't know if it requires an additional component to make it work.
This will depend largely on your vehicle. For details on installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and give you the details on what you will need for an installation.
Is this radio compatible with rear camera?
[ Rob Mar 23, 2014 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: Sure is. That unit does have a rear camera input and will work with any of the rear view cameras on our site.If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.
